do you still feel like a summer thunderstorm, breathing in humidity and electric rage? there’s deep dark secrets in your ribs. carved a warning on your collarbones reminding me that everything eventually evaporates into heavy sighs and static. it’s been a long time and I’m dried up I have bonfires in my bedroom and hope you can still smell the thick smoke of my poetry being ripped apart when you’re on a 3 am drive. hopefully one day you can slip your hands through that skeleton of yours and spill out all that anger. maybe finally you can stop drowning.

stars are on my wrists tonight as i inhale incense and indecision i'll write all the things i could never say on post it notes and plaster walls you smelled like welding fumes and cigarettes and your eyes were like the sea crashing low i guess i'm finally learning to throw away old memories and hope that i can choke on a new idea and maybe those stars on my veins can help me find a new way home
